12 Apostles
The great coastline of Australia burns hot red as it meets the vast, unhindered Southern Ocean. The Great Ocean Road is along a fantastic stretch of coastline and the name of the road expresses the wonder. Situated west of Melbourne, the road travels through lush green farmland with rolling hills, sandstone cliffs, rugged coastline and windswept land further to the west. In southern Australia, Spring can bring changeable weather. I camped here for a number of days waiting for the sun to come out. Deciding not to wait any longer, I traveled inland and further explored Victoria. About a week later, in the middle of the afternoon, I noticed a change in the weather. As I was only 120 miles (200km) away from the 12 Apostles, I made a dash for the sunset, hoping to have a bit of clear sky on the horizon. When I arrived, the cloud had started to cover the sky again but just before the horizon it shone out in all it's glory.
